3/4 c. butter 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. light brown sugar 1 egg yolk 1 1/3 s. all purpose flour 3/4 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. salt Food coloring Sesame seeds
1. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, and egg yolk. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well and cover & refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm.
2. Use 1/2 the dough to make "hot dogs" and refrigerate remaining dough. Mix food coloring in a small bowl to make reddish-brown and mix into dough. Divide colored dough in 2 sections of six. Roll in 2 log shapes and set aside.
3. To make the "buns" divide remaining dough in two equal sections of 6. Roll in 2 thick log shapes and make indentations length of the log (center). Lift buns with spatula and roll in sesame seeds. Place 3 inches apart on cookie sheets. Place "hot dogs" inside the "buns" freeze four 20 minutes.
4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake 17-20 minutes or until buns are light brown. Cool on cookie sheets.
