1 c. shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar packed
2 eggs
1 1/2 tes. vanilla
2 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1/2 teas. baking soda
1 teas. salt
1. Mix the first four ingredients; add flour baking soda & salt. Mix well and shape into one long smooth roll. Chill overnight.
2. Slice and bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.
3. To decorate dip well drained long stemmed maraschino cherries in melted chocolate chips using stem of cherry as the tail for mouse cookie.
4. Attach hersey kisses for head and sliced almounds for ears.
