2 pounds spareribs, cut into 2-inch pieces 3/4 cup soy sauce 6 tablespoons cornstarch 1 small onion, sliced 1 green bell pepper, coarsely chopped 1 15 1/4 oz can pineapple chunks 1 large tomato, cut into 8 wedges 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup cider vinegar
1. Boil spareribs in salted water until tender; drain.
2. Mix 1/2 cup soy sauce and 4 tablespoons cornstarch. Coat spareribs with this mixture and let sit for about 1 hour.
3. Brown ribs in small amount of oil, stirring while cooking. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels.
4. Add onion and bell pepper to oil in pan; saute for 1 minute.
5. Add pineapple and tomato to pan; stir and cook for 2 minutes.
6. Add remaining ingredients; bring to boil.
7. Add spareribs; stir and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
8. Serve immediately.
