6 medium green peppers salt 1 pound lean ground beef 1/3 cup chopped onion 1 tablespoon oil 2 cups stewed tomatoes or 1 1-lb can 3/4 cup cooked rice 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce pepper to taste 1 cup shredded American cheese
1. Cut off tops of peppers; remove seeds and membranes.
2. Precook in boiling salted water 5 minutes; drain. Sprinkle insides with salt.
3. Brown meat and onion in hot oil. Add tomatoes, rice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cover; simmer until rice is tender, about 5 minutes.
4. Add cheese.
5. Stuff peppers. Stand up in baking pan.
6. Bake, uncovered, in 350-degree oven 25 minutes or until hot.
7. Sprinkle with more cheese.
