vegetable oil, for the rack 1/2 pound lean ground beef 1/2 pound italian sausage, casings removed 1/4 cup bottled hot sauce 4 slices provolone cheese 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, heated
1. Arrange briquettes in the barbecue, lightly oil the grill rack, and preheat to high.
2. In a bowl, gently knead the beef, sausage, and hot sauce. (Be careful not to handle the meat too much or it will become tough.) Divide into 4 equal pieces, form each piece into a ball, and flatten to a thickness of 1/4 inch.
3. When ready, arrange the burgers on the grill about 6 inches from the heat source, and cook, turning only once, for about 15 to 19 minutes. Just before removing from the heat, place a slice of cheese on each burger. When the cheese has melted, remove from the heat, and serve with barbecue sauce.
