5 lbs meaty spareribs 2 onions, sliced 3 tablespoons butter 1 carrot, grated dash of pepper 3 apples, sliced 1 quart sauerkraut, rinsed 1 1/2 cups dry white wine
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In skillet, lightly brown spareribs in butter. Sprinkle with pepper.
3. In separate bowl, mix together sauerkraut, onions and carrots. Place half this mixture in baking dish.
4. Add half the apple slices and all the spareribs. Cover with remaining sauerkraut mixture, apple slices, and wine.
5. Cover and bake 1 hour 45 minutes.
(Nice served with mashed potatoes.)
