Description: Good southern cooks know that, the longer grits is cooked, the better it tastes.

Great recipes online.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup grits
2 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon margarine
Preparation:
1. Place water, salt, and margarine in saucepan and bring to boil.

2. Stir in grits slowly to avoid lumping.

3. Return to boil. Then turn down heat to low and continue to cook until grits are the consistency you like. As the grits cook, stir and add more water if needed. Grits become smoother as the cooking time is increased.

Serving suggestion: Stir in more margarine or cheddar cheese. Or fry a piece of country ham, remove from skillet, and add water to drippings to make Red Eye Gravy. Then add some gravy to the grits.
