2 egg whites 1 1/2 cups sugar 5 tablespoons cold water 1/2 teaspoon white Karo syrup (or 4 to 5 large marshmallows) 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring Dash of salt
1. Mix all ingredients in top of double boiler. (If marshmallows are used instead of Karo syrup, add 1 or 2 at a time after you start cooking.)
2. Beat at high speed with handheld mixer over boiling water for 7 minutes, stopping once to scrape sides and bottom of pot.
