1 head lettuce, torn 1 cup chopped celery 1 cup chopped green bell pepper 1 cup chopped onion (Purple onion rings also are pretty.) 1 10-oz package frozen green peas 1 cup mayonnaise 2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese 8 strips bacon--cooked, drained, and crumbled (or imitation)
1. Place lettuce in bottom of deep bowl.
2. Add a layer each, in the following order: celery, bell pepper, onion, and peas.
3. Spread mayonnaise over peas. Sprinkle with cheese.
4. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
5. Before serving, sprinkle bacon over top.
