4 large potatoes 3 tablespoon butter or margarine 1/3 cup chopped onion 4 1/2 teaspoon flour 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 2 cups milk
1. Pare potatoes and cut in 1/8 inch crosswise slices.
2. Place in buttered 2 quart baking dish.
3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter, add onion and cook until tender.
4. Remove from heat and blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
5. Stir in milk.
6. Return to heat and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens slightly and comes to a boil.
7. Pour over potato slices.
8. Bake, covered, in a 350-degree oven for 30 minutes.
9. Uncover and bake 1 hour longer, or until potatoes are tender.
