4 cups regular store brand barbeque sauce 1 1/2 cups honey 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup black pepper 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon ground red pepper 2 canned whole pears, or equivalent, pureed smooth
1. In a large pot, combine all ingredients.
2. Bring to a low boil, stirring to dissolve sugar, then simmer for 30 minutes.
NOTE: Great sauce for pulled pork, ribs, or chicken. Store tightly covered in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks if necessary.
