1 1/2 pounds ground beef 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 cup cornflake crumbs 8 oz tomato sauce (1 can) 6 3-inch-square slices mozzarella cheese 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 large egg, slightly beaten 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1. Mix meat, onion, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper together. Shape the mixture into 6 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick.
2. Mix Parmesan cheese and cornflake crumbs.
3. Dip patties into egg, then coat with cornflake mixture.
4. Brown patties in large skillet over medium heat, turning once. Drain off excess fat.
5. Mix tomato sauce and Italian seasoning and pour over patties in the skillet. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
6. Top each patty with a slice of cheese; cover. Heat until the cheese is melted, about 2 minutes.
7. Serve the leftover sauce over the patties.
