5 cups crushed saltine crackers 1 quart oysters, drained with 1/4 cup reserved 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (optional) 2 cups milk 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional) 1/2 stick (4 tablespoons)margarine or butter
1. Place half of cracker crumbs in 2-quart or 13x9x2 baking dish.
2. Place oysters over crumbs.
3. Mix salt, pepper, and red pepper and sprinkle over top of oysters.
4. Mix milk and Worcestershire sauce and pour over oysters.
5. Top with remaining cracker crumbs.
6. Drizzle reserved liquid from oysters over cracker crumbs and dot with margarine or butter.
7. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 35-40 minutes.
