1/2 cup margarine, softened 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1/2 cup shortening 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1 cup packed, light brown sugar 1/8 teaspoon ginger 1/2 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour 2 eggs 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 tablespoons water 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons light corn syrup 3 cups old-fashioned oats 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 cup raisins
1. Cream margarine, shortening, sugars, eggs, corn syrup, water, and vanilla; beat well.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, beating well.
3. Stir in oats and raisins.
4. Drop by rounded teaspoonsful onto ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool slightly on sheet before removing to cooling racks.
