1 large cabbage, shredded 1 large onion, shredded 1 bell pepper, chopped 1/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup vinegar 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon celery seed 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon dry mustard (optional)
1. Combine cabbage, onion, and bell pepper in container with lid.
2. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan; heat to boiling and boil for one minute.
3. Pour hot mixture over cabbage mixture; do not stir.
4. Cover tightly; store overnight in refrigerator.
5. Before serving, stir well.
NOTE: This dish will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator.
