1 medium onion, grated 1 can green beans 3/4 cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon celery seed 1 cup vegetable oil
1. Place all ingredients except beans in a 1-quart jar. Add an ice cube and shake until dissolved.
2. Add green beans.
3. Chill thoroughly; shake the jar each time you visit the refrigerator.
4. Serve on bed of lettuce.
