8 ounce lasagna noodles 1 pound cottage or ricotta cheese 8 ounce mozzarella cheese Tomato with meat sauce (see below) 3/4 cup parmesan cheese Tomato meat sauce ingredients: 1 onion, minced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 1/2 pound lean ground beef 1 (1-lb. 12-oz.)can tomatoes 1 (12-oz.) can tomato paste 2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon cayenne 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon basil 2 bay leaves 2 cups water
Tomato Meat Sauce:
1. Saute' onion, garlic and meat until browned. (drain grease as needed)
2. Add rest of ingredients; stir well.
3. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Making The Lasagna:
1. Cook noodles per package instructions and drain.
2. Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray, then layer noodles, Ricotta, Mozzarella, meat sauce and Parmesan. Repeat this sequence to make several layers ending with a layer of meat sauce and Parmesan.
3. Bake at 325-degrees for 45 minutes.
4. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
