4 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup heavy cream 6 tablespoons Parmesan cheese salt and pepper to taste 8 ounces fettuccine
1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over a low heat.
2. Remove from heat; add the cream and the grated Parmesan.
3. Return to heat; heat the sauce through and melt the cheese. Do not boil.
4. Stir in the salt and pepper.
5. Cook the fettuccine in plenty of boiling salted water. Drain well.
6. Combine the noodles and the sauce; leave to stand, covered, for two minutes before serving.
