3 cups (18 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk dash salt 1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts, optional 1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. In heavy saucepan; over low heat, melt chips with sweetened condensed milk and salt. Remove from heat; stir in nuts if desired and vanilla. Spread evenly into wax paper or butter foil lined 8- or 9- inch square pan.
2. Chill 2 hours or until firm. Turn fudge onto cutting board, peel off paper and cut into squares. Store covered in refrigerator.
Marshmallow fudge: proceed as above, omit nuts and add 2 tablespoons butter to mixture; fold in 2 cups miniature marshmallows.
