3 strips bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef, shaped into 6 patties 1 small onion, sliced 3 potatoes, peeled and sliced 2 carrots, cut into strips and quartered 1 green bell pepper, sliced in rings salt and pepper to taste
1. Cover bottom of large frying pan with bacon pieces.
2. Layer beef patties, onions, potatoes, carrots, and bell pepper rings. Salt and pepper to taste.
3. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, until bacon sizzles.
4. Add 1/2 cup water and turn heat to low.
5. Cook 50 to 60 minutes or until carrots and potatoes are tender.
6. Add more water as needed.
