3 cups sugar 3/4 cup cocoa 3/4 cup milk 1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine or butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Combine all ingredients except vanilla extract in saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
3. Allow mixture to boil for 5 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
5. Beat until thick and spreadable.
6. If too thick to spread, add small amount of milk.
7 Makes enough for a 3-layer cake.
