4 slightly beaten eggs 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 1/2 cups milk, scalded 1 9-inch unbaked pastry shell ground nutmeg
1. Blend eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla.
2. Gradually stir in scalded milk.
3. Pour into pastry shell.
4. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
5. Bake in 350-degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.
6. Cool on rack; then chill.
Note: If desired, omit nutmeg; sprinkle 1/2 cup flaked coconut atop unbaked filling.
