1 cup water 1/2 cup uncooked regular rice 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 1/2 cups milk 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1. Heat oven to 350-degrees.
2. Heat water, rice and salt to boiling in 2-quart saucepan; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir remaining ingredients into rice.
3. Pour into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
4. Place casserole in pan of very hot water (1 inch deep).
5. Bake, stirring occasionally, until most of the milk is absorbed, 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours.
