Pie: 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice 4 cup pared,sliced tart apples 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 9" unbaked pie shell Topping: 1 6-oz pkg butterscotch chips 1/4 cup butter 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/8 teaspoon salt
Pie:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In large bowl,combine lemon juice and apples; toss until well coated.
3. Stir in sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt; mix well.
4. Turn into 9" unbaked pie shell. Cover edges with aluminum foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
Topping:
1. Melt over hot but not boiling water butterscotch chips and butter; stir until smooth.
2. Remove from heat; stir in flour and salt. Blend until mixture forms large crumbs.
3. Remove foil from pie. Crumble topping mixture over hot apples.
4. Bake at 375 degrees an additional 25 minutes.
