1 stewing or roasting chicken, about 3 or 4 lbs 1 tsp salt 3 potatoes, sliced 1 large onion, sliced 1 cup green lima beans 1 cup canned tomatoes 1 Tbs sugar 1 cup whole kernel corn 1 Tbs catsup or Worcestershire sauce 4 Tbs butter
1. Cut chicken into pieces; put in casserole with enough boiling water to cover.
2. Add salt; simmer about 45 minutes.
3. Add potatoes, onion, lima beans, tomatoes, and sugar; simmer 45 minutes or until beans and potatoes are tender.
4. Remove chicken bones.
5. Add corn; cook an additional 10 minutes.
6. Season to taste.
7. Add catsup or Worcestershire sauce.
8. Add butter; stir well.
This recipe can be eaten alone or served over rice.
