1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/2 stick margarine 1/2 cup warm water 2 packages Fleischmann's Yeast 2 eggs, beaten 4 1/2 cups unsifted flour (approximate)
1. Warm milk until just before boiling. Stir in sugar, salt, and margarine; cool to lukewarm.
2. Place warm water in large warm bowl. Add yeast and stir until dissolved.
3. Stir in lukewarm milk mixture, beaten eggs, and half the flour; beat until smooth.
4. Stir in remaining flour to make a slightly stiff dough.
5. Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead about 8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
6. Place dough in greased bowl, turning so that the top will be greased.
7. Cover top of bowl with towel. Let yeast rise in warm, draft-free location for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
8. Punch down dough and turn out onto lightly floured surface. Shape or cut as desired before baking.
